KERBSIDE PLASTIC RECYCLING ITEMS

GREEN BAGS - PET/PETE  1 

These are usually Clear tough plastics, such as soft juices, fizzy, water bottles, fruit trays, microwave/cooking trays, some shower/shampoo bottles. They have a number 1 or PET on them. 

Remove labels, film and lids where possible. either stack or cut them in half to make extra space in your bag. 

ITEMS IN THIS BAG MUST BE LABELLED "1" or "R/PET"


YELLOW BAGS – PP/PS - 5/6

Hard, rigid, brittle plastic, but flexible packaging such as butter, yoghurt, cream, margarine, ice-cream pots, some lunch boxes.

ITEMS IN THIS BAG MUST BE LABELLED "5" OR "6"

** NO EXPANDED/EXTRUDED FOAM POLYSTYRENE PLEASE **

 


BLUE BAGS – SOFT PLASTIC

Any soft packaging that is not part of the Terracycle schemes. Examples include carrier bags, toilet roll packaging, plastics that may contain clothes, toys, film from packaging, fruit netting, clear sealed bags. These sometimes have numbers on them too. 

Please separate all soft plastics if attached to other plastic in other bags. 

PLEASE ONLY PUT SOFT PLASTICS IN THIS BAG!!

CLEAR BAGS – HDPE/ALL PLASTIC LIDS/OTHER MIXED PLASTICS

Soft flexible plastics, these are usually HDPE/LDPE. These include items like milk containers, bathroom bottles and all plastic lids. You can normally find a number, but they are VERY small.

Include in this bag all unknown plastics, meat trays in particular. 

Please CRUSH down all larger items or cut into half as this will allow more space in your bag. 


RED BAGS - TERRACYCLE

We collect ALL Crisps and Biscuits, Nestle, Kinder, Febreeze, Ella pouches, Garnier, Finish, Vanish, KP, Weleda, Flash/Febreeze packaging, Pringles, Colgate, Contact lenses, Bayliss and Harding, Bread bags, Carex, Cheese Packaging, Hasbro games, Lily’s kitchen, Babybel, Pens/Pencils/Correction Fluid.

Please put “smelly” items into separate bags before putting in this bag, to avoid contaminating other products.

These are returned to manufacturers via local drop-off points or sent directly to them and made into new products!
